Knives and Objects prohibited by the German Weapons Law§ 1.3.1 Weapons for cutting and thrusting which due to their form are suitable for simulating another object or which are disguised as objects of daily use. § 1.3.2 Steel rods, blackjacks or brass knuckles § 1.3.3 Star-shaped disks which due to their character and handling are designated for throwing at a target and are likely to be harmful to health (throwing stars). Switchblade and gravity knives according to Annex 1 Section 1 Subsection 2 No. 2.1.1 and 2.1.2. Exempted from this are switchblade knives if the blade springs out at the side of the grip and that part of the blade protruding from the grip is max. 8.5 cm long, has at least a width of 20% of its length in the middle, is not sharpened on both sides has a continuous back which tapers towards the cutting edge. § 1.4.2 Fixed knives with a handle at a right angle to the blade which are intended to be wielded or used in the clenched fist (fist knife). § 1.4.3 Butterfly knives with split, swivel handles. Knives § 2.1.1 whose blades spring out of the grip when a button or lever is pressed and which can be fixed (switchblade knives), § 2.1.2 whose blades spring out of the grip due to gravity or due to a throwing motion when a locking device is pressed, and are fixed automatically or when the locking device is released (gravity knives), § 2.1.3 with a handle at a right angle to the blade which are intended to be wielded or used in the clenched fist (fist knife). (3) Owners of a hunting license and members of the leather or pelt processing professions are allowed, deviating from § 2 paragraph 3, to use fist knives according to Annex 2 Section 1 No. 1.4.2, provided they need these knives to carry out their work. § 2.1.4 Butterfly knives with split, swivel handles.
